Drawing-gesture and figure

Since my drawing class was waiting awhile for the model to arrive Laura sent us out to do some gesture drawings of people to warm up. Once the model arrived we did some quick blind contour drawings while she did many poses. Later we did longer 15 minute drawings of her sitting and standing. We did two reductive drawings and then did the last one with charcoal on blank paper.

"After exploring the web and discussing digital illustration in class you will begin to create an illustration that combines hand work with digital work. This is an assignment that is very open to interpretation. My only requirement is that it must be AT LEAST 8x10 @ 200 ppi. and that it must combine digital and analog (your hands) work."

Illustrator Self-Portraits

Our assignments were to make a self-portrait in illustrator without tracing an image and then we scanned our faces and used that image to drawing that using illustrator as well.
